Broccoli “spiert” (wild) from Palomonte, pomodoro al sole (sunshine tomato) peppers (sweet, spicy and the characteristic “corno di capra”) are just some of the local varieties that we decided to cultivate in our fields and bring back to the tables of gourmets.
In this way we also give our contribution to safeguarding the biodiversity of our area.
You prepare fantastic appetizers, with our traditional pickles: broccoli, artichokes, green beans, eggplant, zucchini. You’ll be spoilt for choice to season pasta, with ready-made sauces and tomato preserves.
You will impress your guests with Ortomayo®, the exclusive vegan mayonnaise of vegetables, prepared with only four natural ingredients, suitable for many uses. And you can return to prepare the snack as it used to be: a nice slice of homemade bread with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, the king of our table.
Our farm covers nine hectares, among the hills located at the foot of the Alburni Mountains, in a small village, Palomonte, in the province of Salerno. It is a green area between the natural reserves of “Foce Sele – Tanagro” and “Monti Eremita-Marzano”.
Here we cultivate our vegetables, in open fields. And we crop our excellent raw materials, vegetables and tomatoes that come from seeds of local autochthone varieties.
Vegetables that we process by hand in our laboratory, located right on the fields. In this way we decrease the steps of the production chain and guarantee the freshness of each preparation.
Only in this way can we offer healthy and good products and at the same time preserve the biodiversity of the places where we grew up.
We are knotted to the taste of the traditions of the past, those that our grandparents taught us and that we will pass on to our children. The culture of raw materials, the knowledge of good products and the best preparation processes means for us the respect of our origins.
This is all you can find entering in “Casa Iuorio”, a window that invites you to enter and discover a genuine atmosphere, to look with your eyes the product’s characteristics and to taste all the flavors, typical of the Mediterranean diet.
The fresh smell of basil, the rich scent of a simple tomato sauce, the aromatic herbs just harvested and used in our special Sunday preparations.
When the whole family got together first in the kitchen and then around the table, to have lunch all together. It is really true… there are smells and images that bring to our mind scenes of childhood made of many reminiscences and a strong tradition.
Casa Iuorio’s history born from our grandparents, that dedicated our life to grow up our big family, with the daily and laborious work of their fields. From them we learned to work the raw materials and preserve the genuine products of our land: aubergines, tomatoes, broccoli, artichokes, courgettes in oil. Therefore we decided now to offer to good food lovers the fruit of all that we learned.
Our daily commitment is the open field cultivation, that is without using greenhouses, and the artisan process of the fresh raw materials.
